About the Half Sassed Sis

I'm Lisa, the "Half Sassed Sis" - welcome to my recipe blog. I'm so happy you're here!

As a little girl nicknamed "Sis" with four older brothers, I loved to cook with my Mom and she taught me how to efficiently use what was in the pantry, fridge and freezer. There's almost always a substitution that can be used to complete a recipe, as long as you keep a few staple ingredients on hand. 

​

Many of the recipes I share are family favorites from my Mom, some are adaptations of meals I've loved and I also enjoy trying new recipes I find. 

​

I opened a micro cafe in 2019, serving home cooked lunches and panini/soup specials in our tiny local town. Due to Covid, I was forced to close the cafe in 2020 and was forced to take a regular 9-5, however cooking for my husband and son, extended family and friends is still one of my favorite pastimes! 

​

Thank you for being here! I hope if you're a busy Mom like me - running with work, sports and life, that my site will help you put yummy homeade-ish meals in front of your family more days than you don't.
